The breakthrough yearThe year he turned 19, he debuted with the showcase for Seventeen’s first album, 17 Carat. He wrote, composed and produced the title track “Adore U,” and his name became known as soon as he debuted. That September, he also wrote and composed “Mansae,” the title track of the second mini album Boys Be.

In 2016, he made the title track “Pretty U” on the first studio album Love & Letter and the repackage title track “Very Nice,” and at year’s end took part in “Boom Boom,” the title track of the third mini album. In 2017, he wrote and composed “Don’t Wanna Cry,” the title track of the fourth mini album, and in November worked as a main producer on the second studio album Teen, Age.

In 2018, he was featured in the book Aidorui Jageopsil, about idols who compose, and in July wrote and composed “Oh My!,” the title track of the fifth mini album. In 2019, he wrote and composed “Fear,” the title track of the third studio album An Ode.

In May 2020, Pledis Entertainment became a Big Hit label, and in June “Left & Right,” the title track of the seventh mini album Heng:garæ, brought the group a million-seller. In 2021, the year he turned 25, he worked on “Ready to Love” and “Rock with You,” and in December won Best Producer at the Asia Artist Awards.

In January 2022, he released his first solo mixtape, Ruby. In July, he released “CHEERS” as the Leaders unit with S.Coups and Hoshi. In April 2023, he wrote and composed “Super,” one of the double title tracks of the tenth mini album FML, and the album recorded the highest first-week sales on record. In November, Seventeen won its first MAMA Awards Daesang.

In 2024, he appeared in tvN’s Nana Tour with Seventeen and wrote and composed the four new songs on the best-of album.

In March 2025, he released the single Beam with Hoshi, and in May he produced “Thunder,” the title track of the tenth-anniversary fifth studio album Happy Burstday. He enlisted in the Army on Sept. 15.

Woozi (born Nov 22, 1996) became known on May 26, 2015, the year he turned 19, when he wrote, composed and produced “Adore U,” the title track of Seventeen’s debut album 17 Carat. In 2021, the year he turned 25, he won Best Producer at the Asia Artist Awards, and in January of the next year he released his first solo mixtape, Ruby.
