In 2012, the year he turned 17, he passed the final stage of PGA Tour Qualifying School, the youngest ever to do so. In 2013, he made his first PGA Tour start as an invited player at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and in June he turned 18 and became eligible for full membership. In 2014, he lost his card and played on the second-tier Web.com Tour.

In July 2015, he won the Web.com Tour Stonebrae Classic, and in August he secured a PGA Tour card by finishing 10th on the money list. In August 2016, the year he turned 21, he won the Wyndham Championship for his first PGA Tour title, then the youngest Korean winner.

The breakthrough yearIn May 2017, the year he turned 22, he won The Players Championship as its youngest winner. Mania Report writes that he made his name with this win. In October he played for the International team at the Presidents Cup.

In January 2021, he won The American Express for his third career win. In September 2022, he was named a Presidents Cup captain’s pick, and in December he married Oh Ji-hyun.

In January 2023, he won the Sony Open for his fourth career win, and in October he won gold in team golf at the Hangzhou Asian Games. In August 2024, he tied for fifth at the BMW Championship, his best finish of that season.

In December 2025, he finished alone in third at the Crown Australian Open and earned a place in the 2026 Open Championship. In May 2026, he was runner-up at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, and in July he tied for sixth at the Open Championship. In August his world ranking reached 13th, his best at the time, and in September he won three team matches with Tom Kim at the Presidents Cup.

Kim Si-woo (born Jun 28, 1995) passed the final stage of PGA Tour Qualifying School in Dec 2012, the year he turned 17, the youngest ever to do so, and became known when he won The Players Championship on May 15, 2017, the year he turned 22, as its youngest winner. His first PGA Tour win was the Wyndham Championship on Aug 22, 2016, the year he turned 21.

    At 17, finished 20th at 18 under over six rounds at the final stage of Qualifying School and earned a 2013 PGA Tour card. He was the youngest player ever to pass it. Because players had to be 18 or older to hold a tour card, he could enter up to 12 events on sponsor invitations.
