In 2005, the year she turned 8, she joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee. The year she turned 18, in May, she took part in Mnet’s Sixteen as a trainee of 10 years, and in October she debuted with the group TWICE as main vocalist and leader.

The breakthrough yearThe year she turned 19, in April, the second mini album Page Two came out with “Cheer Up,” which reached No. 1 on the real-time charts of eight music sites other than Melon. It came six months after debut. In November, the “Cheer Up” music video passed 100 million YouTube views, 207 days after release.

In July 2017, the group held its Japan debut showcase at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, and in October “Likey,” from the first full album Twicetagram, reached No. 1 on six music charts. In 2018, it held showcases for the mini albums What Is Love? in April and Yes or Yes in November.

In April 2019, Fancy You became the first girl group album to pass 150,000 copies in its first week, and in May the group held its first solo concert at the KSPO Dome in Seoul. In February 2020, it signed a partnership with Republic Records, and in October its second full album, with “I Can’t Stop Me,” continued a run of 14 straight hits. In 2021, it released “The Feels,” its first English-language single.

In July 2022, all members re-signed with JYP, and in August the group released its first album since, Between 1&2. The year she turned 26, in June, the group played SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, the first girl group to do so, and in August she released her first solo mini album, Zone, which reached No. 14 on the Billboard 200.

In February 2024, the group released the mini album With You-th, and in July it played Nissan Stadium in Japan, a first for a K-pop female artist. In July 2025, the group released the fourth full album This Is For, and “Takedown,” sung with Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung for the KPop Demon Hunters OST, entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 86.

In August, the group became the first K-pop girl group to headline Lollapalooza Chicago, and in October it released the tenth anniversary album Ten. In April 2026, the group played National Stadium in Tokyo, and in September she appeared at Waterbomb Kaohsiung 2026 in Taiwan.

Jihyo (born Feb 1, 1997) debuted with the group TWICE on Oct 20, 2015, the year she turned 18, and became known when “Cheer Up” topped the real-time charts of eight music sites on Apr 25, 2016, the year she turned 19. In 2023, the year she turned 26, her first solo mini album, Zone, reached No. 14 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

    Released the first solo mini album Zone with the title track “Killin’ Me Good.” It sold 534,565 copies in its first week by Hanteo Chart, the first mini album by a K-pop female soloist to sell half a million in its first week, and reached No. 14 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

    “Takedown” enters the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time

    She sang “Takedown” with Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung for the OST of Netflix’s animated film KPop Demon Hunters. The version by the three TWICE members entered the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for the first time at No. 86, on the chart released on the 15th, local time.

    Shows at National Stadium in Tokyo

    Held additional This Is For shows at National Stadium in Tokyo from April 25 to 28 for 240,000 attendees over three days, and Jihyo performed “Like 1,” a collaboration with ONE OK ROCK. Joynews24 reports it was the first time a K-pop group, and the first time a foreign artist, had played the venue.
