In 1982 she began as a radio DJ with KBS 1 Radio’s It’s Sunday Morning. In 1990 she was hosting MBC-FM’s Music Salon. In 1995 she returned to TV as the lead of SBS’s Confession, while also working as a kindergarten principal. She married in 1998. In December 1999 she took the stage in the monodrama I Am a Woman.

In 2004 she played Lady Yun in SBS’s Toji, the Land. The film Marathon came out in January 2005, and in May she began the SBS morning drama Queen’s Conditions. Newsis lists a 2005 Top Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards among her honors.

In 2008 she was named kindergarten ambassador by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. In 2009 she played her first villain role, 30 years after her debut, in Brilliant Legacy, and won the Top Excellence Award, Actress, at the SBS Drama Awards.

In 2013 she appeared on Healing Camp, a talk show with her as the sole guest, 34 years after her debut. In 2015 she appeared in KBS2’s All About My Mom. From May 2018 she hosted KBS Classic FM’s Family Music.

In 2020 KBS2’s Beautiful Love, Wonderful Life ended its run. In 2022 she played Seo Han-sook in JTBC’s Artificial City. In March 2023 she finished her run hosting Family Music.

In 2024 she appeared in the Netflix series The Whirlwind and in JTBC’s The Tale of Lady Ok. In April 2025 she talked about running a kindergarten in a video on Song Seung-hwan’s Wonderful Life YouTube channel. In 2026 she appeared in KBS2’s Recipe for Love and ENA’s Honour.
