In May 2015, the year she turned 19, she took part in Mnet’s Sixteen as a trainee, and in October she debuted with the group TWICE.

The breakthrough yearIn April 2016, the year she turned 20, “Cheer Up” from the second mini album Page Two set off a “sha sha sha” craze, six months after her debut. In November, “TT” won first place on The Show for the first time, on Jeongyeon’s birthday.

In 2017, TWICE entered Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart for the first time with Signal, and in July the group made its official debut in Japan. In October, “Likey” from the first full-length album reached No. 1 on six music charts. In 2018, the group came back twice, with What Is Love? and Yes or Yes.

In April 2019, “Fancy” passed 150,000 first-week copies, a first for a girl group, and in May the group played a world tour show at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena. In June 2020, More & More first entered the Billboard 200. In October, her agency announced that she would sit out schedules, including promotions for the second full-length album, for the time being for health reasons.

In June 2021, she returned with Taste of Love, but in August she again stopped attending schedules for health reasons. In February 2022, she rejoined the U.S. concerts, resuming official activities. In July, all members re-signed with JYP.

In 2023, TWICE became the first women’s group to play SoFi Stadium in the U.S. In 2024, the group played Nissan Stadium in Japan, a first for a K-pop female artist.

The year she turned 29, in July, “Takedown,” sung with Jihyo and Chaeyoung, entered the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 at No. 86 for the first time, and in August she performed it live for the first time at Lollapalooza Chicago. In April 2026, she played National Stadium in Tokyo with a solo stage and a unit stage. In August she left JYP and signed with Baro Entertainment, and on Oct. 1 her casting in New Recruit: The Movie was announced.
