The breakthrough yearThe year she turned 20, Chung Ha went from 13th to 5th in the third ranking announcement of Mnet’s Produce 101, and in the live finale on April 1 she finished 4th and made the 11 members of I.O.I. On May 4, I.O.I debuted with its first mini album Chrysalis.
The year she turned 21, I.O.I disbanded in January, and in June she made her solo debut with her first mini album Hands on Me. Joynews24 says she was the first of the I.O.I members to debut as a solo singer. The year she turned 22, she released “Roller Coaster” from her second mini album Offset and “Love U” from her third mini album Blooming Blue. In October she made a cameo in Netflix’s YG Future Strategy Office, and in December she received Best Dance Performance Solo at the 2018 MAMA.
On Jan. 2, 2019, the year she turned 23, she released her second single “Gotta Go,” and on the 9th she won first place on Show Champion, her first music-show win since her solo debut. In June she released her fourth mini album Flourishing.
In April 2020, the year she turned 24, she released “Stay Tonight” from her first full-length album ahead of the album. The year she turned 25, she released her first full-length album Querencia. The year she turned 26, she released her second full-length album Bare & Rare Pt.1.
In October 2023, the year she turned 27, she joined Jay Park’s label More Vision. The year she turned 28, she released the singles “EENIE MEENIE” and “Algorithm,” and the Christmas special single Christmas Promises.
In February 2025, the year she turned 29, she released the EP Alivio, and in December the Christmas digital single Christmas Again.
The year she turned 30, she released “Save me” on her Feb. 9 birthday, and on May 19 she took part in I.O.I : LOOP, the album for the group’s 10th debut anniversary. After releasing “México” on Sept. 1, her contract with More Vision ended on Sept. 21.
Chung Ha (born Feb 9, 1996) became known on Mar 25, 2016, the year she turned 20, when she rose to 5th in the third ranking announcement of Mnet’s Produce 101. She debuted with I.O.I on May 4, 2016, the year she turned 20, and made her solo debut on Jun 7, 2017, the year she turned 21.
