In July she appeared on Unpretty Rapstar 3 as its youngest contestant, and in December she signed a formal exclusive contract with Cube.

In November 2017 she made her solo debut first, with her own song “Jelly.” The year she turned 20, in May, she debuted with (G)I-dle on the album I Am and “Latata,” which she wrote herself, and won her first music show trophy 20 days later. In August she took first place again with “Hann (Alone),” and in November she performed with Miyeon as K/DA on the League of Legends World Championship final stage.

In January 2019 she won Best New Artist at the 33rd Golden Disc Awards. In February she released the second EP I Made and “Senorita,” and in June “Uh-Oh.”

In April 2020 she topped the iTunes album chart in 58 regions with I Trust and “Oh My God,” and in August she released “Dumdi Dumdi,” the group’s first summer song. In January 2021 she released I Burn and “Hwaa,” and in July her first solo EP, Windy, topped the iTunes album chart in 21 regions. In November she appeared as a homeroom teacher on MBC’s audition program My Teenage Girl.

In March 2022 the first studio album I Never Die and “Tomboy” reached No. 58 on the Billboard Global 200, and in October “Nxde” brought the group onto the Billboard 200 (No. 71) for the first time, four years after debut. In May 2023, I Feel and “Queencard” sold 1,163,300 copies in the first week, fourth among girl groups of all time, and the album entered the Billboard 200 at No. 41.

In January 2024 she released the second studio album 2 and “Super Lady,” and in July I Sway and “Klaxon.” On Nov. 30 the group received its first grand prize, Record of the Year, at the 2024 Melon Music Awards, and two days later the agency said all members had renewed their contracts.

In May 2025, on the seventh debut anniversary, the group changed its name from “(G)I-dle” to “I-dle” and released the eighth EP We Are and “Good Thing.”

In July 2026 she released the ninth EP We Made and “Gimme Dat Love,” and that month played the main stage at Lollapalooza in the U.S. for the first time since debut.

    Debuted in a six-member group with Miyeon, Minnie, Soojin, Yuqi and Shuhua. She wrote the lyrics and music for the debut song “Latata” herself with the composer Big Sancho, and the group won its first music show trophy on SBS MTV’s The Show on May 22, 20 days after debut.
