The breakthrough yearThe year he turned 19, he became known in the music world with his first album, “Things I Can’t Do for You.” That year he also played Hamlet in the musical Rock Hamlet.

In 2002, he released his third album, and its title song “Good Person” was No. 1 on the Music Box chart for four straight weeks. In 2004, he released his fourth album, Soul Tree, and at the end of the year the drama theme “Snow Flower” reached No. 1 on the Jukeon chart. In 2005, “Snow Flower” was No. 1 for Cyworld background music downloads.

In 2007, he released his fifth studio album, The Breeze of Sea, after about three years. In 2009, he released his sixth album, Gift Part.1, and his 10th anniversary concerts sold out.

In December 2010, he enlisted on active duty. In 2012, he was discharged. In 2013, he played Tod in the musical Elisabeth.

In 2014, he released “Wild Flower” and appeared in the musical Mozart!, and in December held his 15th anniversary concert. In 2015, he played the Phantom in the Korean premiere of the musical Phantom.

In 2016, he released his seventh studio album, I am A Dreamer, after six years, and in November began the Phantom encore run. In 2017, he won the Stage of the Year award at the Melon Music Awards. In 2018, he played Gwynplaine in the musical The Man Who Laughs. In 2019, he won Best Actor at the Korea Musical Awards, and in July held his first solo concert in three years.

In 2022, he appeared in the third season of The Man Who Laughs. In 2024, he released the duet “Winter Ahead” with V of BTS, which reached the Billboard global charts. In 2025, he appeared in the Phantom grand finale season.

In 2026, he released the EP “A & E” after about nine years and six months, and in April held his first solo concert in about seven years. In June he appeared in the musical Beethoven.

Park Hyo-shin (born Sep 1, 1981) became known when he debuted with his first album, “Things I Can’t Do for You,” in Jan 2000, the year he turned 19. In 2016, the year he turned 35, he released his seventh studio album after six years, and in 2026, the year he turned 45, the EP “A & E” after about nine years and six months.

    Finished his active duty and was discharged. He said in a broadcast interview that he was the first ordinary soldier in the military’s 60-year history to receive both the Army Chief of Staff’s award and the Defense Minister’s award.
