The breakthrough yearThe year he turned 19, he appeared on tvN’s The Genius: Black Garnet as a non-celebrity cast member and KAIST student. Xportsnews writes that he was the youngest cast member in the show’s history. In the December final, he lost to Jang Dong-min and finished as the runner-up.
In 2015, he signed with Chorokbaem Media and began working in television. In April he appeared on 1 vs 100, and in June he attended the press conference for The Genius: Grand Final and was eliminated in the September semifinal. After serving as a special host of Crisis Escape No. 1 in October, he appeared as a guest on Hello Counselor in December.
In 2016, he appeared on JTBC’s Code – Secret Room and in May began SBS’s Investors. In 2017, he signed an exclusive contract with Woollim Entertainment and in May hosted Mnet’s 2017 Woollim PICK.
In 2018, he appeared on MBC’s Ranking Show 1, 2, 3, Comedy TV’s Ujujeok Sseolwang Sseollae and SBS’s Finding Genius.
In 2020, he appeared on tvN’s Problematic Men as a hidden brain, and in October he left Fake Men season 2 after injuring his eye in training. In 2021, he appeared in the web variety show Gongbeom.
On Nov. 14, 2022, he enlisted in the military. In December, TVING’s Treasure Hunt was released, and in episode 3 his team was eliminated. Around 2024, he began teaching math at a cram school in Daejeon. In August 2025, this was reported in the press.
In 2026, his appearance in Netflix’s The Devil’s Plan season 3 was reported. Filming is complete, and it is due out in the second half of the year.
Oh Hyun-min (born 1995) became known on Oct 1, 2014, the year he turned 19, when he appeared on tvN’s The Genius: Black Garnet as its youngest cast member. He finished as the runner-up in the December final and, in 2017, the year he turned 22, signed an exclusive contract with Woollim Entertainment.
