The breakthrough yearThe year he turned 17, he won his first individual title at e-Stars Seoul 2007 in August. In December he entered the EVER Starleague 2007 for the first time and won it. Busan Ilbo writes that the win raised him to star status and earned him the nickname “Tyrant.”

In March 2008 he also won GOM TV MSL Season 4, taking both major leagues. In 2009 he won the Batoo Starleague and the Bacchus Starleague, received the Golden Mouse, and took gold in the StarCraft event at WCG 2009 in November.

In January 2010 he won the Nate MSL, bringing him to five individual-league titles. In 2011 he became the first to reach 200 Proleague wins and 400 official wins.

From 2012 he played StarCraft II for the overseas team EG. In 2013 he won ASUS ROG NorthCon 2013. In 2014 he won Lone Star Clash 3 and the World e-Sports Championships 2014.

In 2016 he announced his retirement as a pro gamer and his plans to stream. In 2020 he enlisted as an active-duty soldier in the army. He completed his military service in December 2021.

In 2023 he reached the round of 16 in ASL Season 15. In 2024 he reached the round of 16 in the SSL Autumn. In 2025 he played in Group B of the ASL Season 19 round of 16. In 2026 he went as far as the ASL Season 22 quarterfinals.

Jaedong (born 1990) made his debut on Apr 30, 2006, the year he turned 16, in the SKY Proleague 2006 first-half league, and became known on Dec 22, 2007, the year he turned 17, by winning the EVER Starleague 2007 in his first Starleague appearance. His first international title came at WCG 2009, the year he turned 19.
