In 2008, she marked 20 years since her Japanese debut. In 2012, she divorced and set up a company in Japan, serving as its head. In 2013, she released “Amor Fati.”

The year she turned 58, “Amor Fati” spread online and climbed back up the charts four years after its release. She says it was thanks to word of mouth among EXO fans. In 2018, she took a university festival stage for the first time, and at the end of the year she closed the KBS Song Festival. In 2020, she appeared on SBS My Little Old Boy. In 2021, she received a Presidential Commendation.

In 2023, she appeared on MBC Radio Star. In 2024, a concert marking 50 years since her debut was broadcast on KBS, and in December she judged contestants’ performances as part of the master panel on TV Chosun’s Mr. Trot 3. In 2025, she became an ambassador of the Daejeon Metropolitan Police Agency, and in October she released the voice phishing prevention song “112 Party.”

In 2026, she appeared as a master on Miss Trot 4, and a song monument for “Amor Fati” was put up in her hometown, Gwangju’s Nam District. In September she appeared on You Quiz on the Block.

    Four years after its release, the song spread online and climbed back up the charts. When The Kyunghyang Shinmun reported on it, it was No. 1 on Melon’s trot chart, and a video of her Open Concert performance had passed 2.1 million views on YouTube.
